Which would you rather have? In this example they are mutually exclusive. The average American male height is 5'9. The average American IQ is 98 (that explains a lot).

Your only options....
a) 5'5" tall. You are smarter than 70% of the population
b) 6'5" tall. 70% of the population is smarter than you.

but height goes a long way in a lot of things and I imagine being 5'5" would be terrible

Then again I am almost 6' tall and have a 140+ IQ (at least when I was tested over 20 years ago) and I am broke as a joke. Maybe I am just a statistical outlier.

Why are guys so obsessed with their height? I have a friend who is 6'7"he is constantly referencing his height/size, works it in to every conversation.

I'm 5'9" and don't ever give my height a second thought.

5'5" for a guy is in manlet territory but not midget.

Funny thing is the only time I notice people's height is when they are under 5', abnormally tall or they are a compensating little man (short guys who are all buff and walk with their chest puffed out and flexing their arms). Most people in the 5' to 6'5" range, it doesn't even really register.

This assumes intelligence is a random distribution among the people you're around. This might be the case if you work in some sort of customer service job. But if you work in some sort of STEM job, probably not. Or it could be the reverse for workers at a special-ed school.

I am in the middle on this. I am 5'8" and IQ in the lower 130's. While it would suck being any shorter than I already am, being dumber would suck more.
