Aren't lawsuits supposed to be for the purpose of seeking redress against another person or company who has wronged you?  Why is anybody claiming there was a "factual and legal basis" if the lawsuit was not filed for the purpose of seeking redress?
Agree with Cosmic - disbar this mental giant and levy a nice fine.  Hopefully everybody grasps what an abuse of the system this was.

Not much unlike the two lawyers who invented spam.  "On April 12, 1994, Laurence Canter and Martha Siegel, two immigration lawyers from Arizona, flooded the Internet with a mass mailing promoting their law firm's advisory services."  Widely reviled at the time, Canter is still quite unapologetic: "Yes, we generated a lot of business.  The best I can recall we probably made somewhere between $100,000 to $200,000 related to that -- which wasn't remarkable in itself, except that the cost of doing it was negligible."

At a trial under way in Phoenix, Ruth Ann Burns is suing her family physician and obstetrician for failing to diagnose her pregnancy as early as they should have. [b]She says she'd have aborted her two-year-old toddler Nicholas had she known in time that he was on the way,[/b] though he is perfectly healthy and she claims to dote on him now.  The doctors say Burns herself didn't think she was pregnant when she first sought medical attention and say when the pregnancy was discovered she still had time to pursue an abortion, but chose not to.

Michele Nations, 26, who sprained her ankle five years ago when she tripped into a hole at a municipal park in Tucson, has now been awarded $450,000 by a local jury.  Nations' attorney "says the case hinged on the city's responsibility to post adequate warning about burrowing animals [such as squirrels and gophers] and to provide a safe alternative to dodging holes and caved-in tunnels."  An attorney for the city differs, and calls the outcome astonishing: "You would think in a park -- in a natural space -- people should have to watch where they're going."
