For those of faith, who believe in the power of prayer...

One of my best friends just found-out yesterday that his good friend Thomas has pancreatic cancer. Thomas is in his early 40s and has two small boys. My wife and I just had dinner last week down in Denver with my friend and Thomas, and he was complaining of having stomach pains for the past couple of weeks. Please remember to keep Thomas in your prayers and/or thoughts. No one should have to deal with this at such a young age (or ever).

Thank you.

There is some hope. A friend of mine was diagnosed a little over 5 years ago.  He had surgery then and he recently went to his 5 year visit he asked the doctor how many of these he has had.  Doc said you are the first. I pray your friends friend is one of the 5-15%

Terrible news and it is indeed not good.....
This is a particularly nasty type of cancer.  Thomas and his family will most definitely have my families prayer time today.

A friend of mine survived it about 7 years ago. It's my understanding he is a statistical outlier.

Good luck and best wishes to your friend. I really believe a positive attitude, or meanness, or whatever motivates you, can have a positive impact. My friend just  refused to die. Family and good friends are a key support mechanism.

The doctors gave me Dad 2-4 months when he was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

He told me I should bet the over. I won.

He had 3 rounds of chemo, and fought it for 370 days before he died, at home, in my arms.

Fuck cancer.

If I was given a magic lamp and could pick one disease to cure it would be pancreatic cancer.

Thoughts for your friend OP.

Fuck cancer

My wife's brother had the same thing. He needed surgery, and other treatments.  It's been over a year, no signs of cancer, and all his hair grew back!

Prayers sent.  Cancer indeed sucks and pancreatic cancer sucks especially hard.  We lost a family friend to it recently, with only just a month between diagnosis and death.  It can stay hidden until so late that there's nothing that can be done for most victims.

Damn...

I just got an update on what they know so far, and I had it all typed up here.... but decided to erase it in the interest of the family's privacy.

Thanks again for all of your prayers and thoughts.

I am 38 and fighting pancreatic cancer.

i have had 6 chemo treatments.  The tumor has shrunk and I have surgery in 10 days to remove it.

I truly believe i am going to win.  My doctors are all pleased with my progress.

Prayers for your friend.  If they caught it early enough he has a chance.

You friend Thomas has a prayer here, both my parents died from cancer.
Father worked in Uranium mines when I was a toddler, camp job on site, pictures of me in a crib not far from the portal.

Good luck as well.
