Yes, I know there is a sub for knives but I see cool shit posted here in GD by people who aren't in the sub then forget what the title of the thread was and then get bored trying to search through every random knife related thread in GD.

This is what I usually carry for long bike rides:

It's really not hard to get a wide bevel on Bussekin. I think the factory angle is 45 dps.

Typically, in my experience. They have some slicey stuff these days using thinner stock, but most of mine are pretty chunky.

No idea what this edge angle measures or how thick BTE it is, but it's a razor and holds a hell of an edge. I want another one in INFI but they don't come up often.

Come home from my underwhelming date dinner.

Under 50 degrees but all the windows are open on the house.

Walk in, smell smoke. See the pan on the stove with food burned in.

Me: So Clara, I see you made dinner.

Clara: It’s not my fault, I couldn’t find a non stick pan!

Me: There was one right in the stove top.

Clara: Where?!

Me: The cast iron one.

Clara: Oh, I thought you’d kill me if I used that.

Ginganinja: yeah, daddy would kill you

Me: I wouldn’t kill anyone.

Clara: no way was I touching that. I’ll clean the other one.

Me: no you won’t, that shit ain’t coming off.

Clara: yes I will, I’ll figure something out.

Me: don’t worry about, oxy clean and boiling water will do it.

Ginganinja: yay! Miss Clara’s not in trouble! Let’s play a game miss Clara!

Meanwhile…how can you not keep the food in a pan this large?

The angle of the pic doesn’t show how bad it is.

it was OK, won't be rushing back. I actually told them no fries, just sauteed vegetables, but everyone hates me, so they brought fries. Turns out the BBQ sauce was so sweet, I needed a few fries to cut the sweetness. Meat was tender at least. And the meal was covered by a gift card so at least I didn't pay for it. And it prompted wife to say she will take me to Sanford, which is supposed to be best of the best around here. We will see.

Okay while that might be a good trick to look into, bite your tongue for disparaging Bon Ami. Sand is generally silica quartz and scratches stuff. Bon Ami is Feldspar and doesn't scratch stuff, like polished stainless etc. etc.

It is a classic American product since 1886 and is still unadulterated with perfumes, dies, bleach, etc.

To me, not having Bon Ami around would be like not having Dawn. It is great for cleaning metal and the only thing other than toilet cleaner we use for bathrooms. Also the kitchen sink & burnt pans (including the outside...).

"The name Bon Ami and the Bon Ami chick with its accompanying "Hasn't Scratched Yet!" slogan are some of America's oldest registered trademarks."

Stainless is weird. I burned rice in one (I had to tend hearing the kid go thump in another room) and it took forever to get the black stains off, I just kept using it and they wore off.
