It's funny that the cover of the movie has Estwing hatchets on it. The Cold Steel is a perfect replica of the hatchets in the movie.

I was running errands a few weeks ago, rocking out to some... err... classical radio.
a song I recognized came on (a rarity for me) but i couldn't remember where I knew it from. some minutes later i was both delighted and embarrassed to realize it was the soundtrack to the rediculious chase scene in Kung-Fu Hustle

The axe and movie are waiting for me at home! I'll have to open the box tonight before I go to bed when I get there around 2am!
I will definitely be watching the movie tomorrow after I sharpen the axe up right. I'm going to go for authenticity rather than utility on my edge selection.

I got my axe and movie!!!!!
This is the factory edge. Dull as a butter knife. The whole bit is coated in a clear coat so I don't have to worry about rust too much. I want to keep it in pretty much stock condition. 
This shows the bit profile which is pretty nicely done. This is actually a great bit profile for chopping, felling, and limbing. I am very impressed that the axe is actually very usable. 
This picture shows it's new convex edge. I didn't buy this to be a user but it is actually going to be a very good hatchet! It dry shaves super easy now. 
Now to pop the movie in and enjoy my new toy.

Kung Fu Hustle is a great, entertaining movie.
The scene where all the resident masters come out from hiding always gets me. |

Kung Fu Hustle was one of the first movie dates my wife and I went on together when we first started dating. Maybe the very first movie date we went on, I'm not sure. Lots of fun.
