latest safety glasses are annoying me; they fog up pretty easily. What are you guys using?
Clear lens Oakley M frames. Have been using them for a long time.
Revision Sawfly ballistic shields. These will actually hold up to sunscreen, DEET, and belly flopping in the swimming pool. Oakleys will crumble. I finally threw my box of broken Oakley parts in the trash. I wish I had spent that money on hookers and blow.
Oakley Flak Jackets.
I have small face. M frames hang off my head in every direction. |
I don't really know.
But I will tell ya this...there sure are several brass nicks in the lenses. |
Just bought some new construction glasses from bolle. Looked like a great value but we will see. Same impact rating.
I got some goggles.
I had trouble with glasses not sitting right, and interfering with ear pro. Goggles have good venting and an elastic band versus two plastic earpieces. |
Usually the native sunglasses I wear all the time anyway, they're impact rated and wrap around pretty good.
There's really nothing special about eye protection. There are clearly defined standards that are pretty good and are easily fulfilled by cheap, readily available options in every home improvement store in the nation. Sure you can spend a few hundred on some fancy-ass coolguy shades with some bitchin ad copy that makes them sound like they'd stop a fucking meteor, but there are no independent standards beyond the regular ones used throughout the industry and your coolguy specs wouldn't fare any better than the three buck generics if they did. |

I just ordered these Randolph Fudd glasses for Trap/Skeet.

View Quote More concerned about fogging and visual obstructions like upper frames that may interfere with some shooting positions. I used to use racquetball glasses; they were frameless and generally stayed clear but still fogged up occasionally. |

some radians for trap/skeet shooting
and some pair of yellow frames shooting glasses that are probably 12 years old. Nothing too fancy. |
A pair of clear generic safety glasses from home depot for indoor shooting.
Oakley Straight Jackets for outdoor shooting |
Ess crossbow supressors. Got them for Christmas but I've worn ESS before and thought they were great.
Normally my sunglasses if outdoors, indoors those generic Winchester ones you get in Walmarts by the ammo counter
I just got some safety glasses with a 1.5 magnification. I'm old.
Oakley Fuel Cells, got them from usstandardissue.com with wifes id. Uncle sams retail outlet has Wiley X goggles as a daily deal for $20 quite often..
I don't remember the brand name, and it's not on them anywhere. Something with polarized lenses that were about $30 at Home Depot. Been wearing them everyday as sunglasses for at least 3 years and haven't broken them yet.

Ess crossbow supressors. Got them for Christmas but I've worn ESS before and thought they were great. View Quote Yup. ESS Crossbow Suppressors with either orange or mirror black lens depending on the weather. |
Uvex Genisis or Crews from work for indoor and whatever sunglasses I have (I think they are also Uvex) for outdoors.
for all the older gents here, this is what Ol Scruff has found. Amazon has safety glasses that are full lens
magnifiers. I use 1X and it makes that front sight clear as can be. they have other powers to choose from, the brand is Elvex. eleven bucks, i think. |

ESS Crossbow Suppressors with either orange or mirror black lens depending on the weather. View Quote Based on recommendations on a thread like this I bought these, and they are perfect for me. They easily and comfortably fit under the ear pro. ESS Eyewear Crossbow Suppressor "The ESS Crossbow Suppressor is the first spectacle frame designed for use with ear cup hearing protection and communications devices. Featuring Z-Bend Geometry, the frame's ultra-thin temple arms help keep noise out by minimizing the effect on the padded seal of ear cups. The slim temples eliminate the hot spots and pressure points that commonly occur when normal eyewear is worn under ear cups." |

Smith Aegis Echo Compact. Super comfortable, easy lens interchange, lightweight, comfortable under ear pro.
ESS ICE Naro with over the ear type hearing protection.
M frame 2.0 or ESS Crossbow with earplugs. Though I may replace the Ice Naro with the crossbow suppressor for lens commonality |
