not enough of this happening anymore and is partly to blame why things are so screwed up. I got my ass beat like that for doing something stupid when I was about that kids age and never to this day some 30 years later have I ever thought of doing what I did again. He is 14, I miss judged his age he is small. I was about 8-9 when I got it.

You know...kid deserved the belt for sure. The part that I found surprising was the very end "I'm going to check up on you, we're going to hang out"
THAT is the problem, and I have to give the dude a little respect for administering a punishment then taking an active role in helping the kid straighten out (assuming he follows through). Seems odd that it wasn't his kid, but...lets face it, the kid is most likely not getting any discipline from home. |

Meh, probably too late for the kid anyway. He was mentioning his mom sending him to a boys home. Needed the belt by the parents long ago I suspect.
