Saw the Hero 4 at Academy today.

Worthwhile to upgrade?

I've got the Hero 3 Black and the only thing I would upgrade for is the low light is much better on the 4's.

I am thinking about buying a couple of the $140 hero's though. For that price I can put a couple around my boat for different angles.

I saw the $140 Heros too, what are those, the original GoPros?

Are the $139 ones 1080p?

For that price I can have a couple dedicated for the kayaks.

They're really stripped down.

Here's a simple chart

They are the same as the next highest minus removable batteries and one other feature I think

Yeah the lowest base model is not the original it is a newer one but it is 1080p @ 30fps, low light sucks, can't remove batteries, can't remove it from its case, and no wifi.

I went ahead and picked up one of the $129 ones, figured it would be a good companion / backup camera to my Hero 3+.

Dedicated a lithium ion USB battery as a go pro charging station.

Test video on the drive home, youtube still processing it, not sure how long it will take.

The drive home video was the default 760p x 60 fps mode.

Here is a small 1080p x 30 fps test.

I won't be using it for high speed type activities, so 30 fps should do ok.
