I it's up and running but I don't want to anger the electronics gods. How long should I wait?
Mine is mounted and installed 100%. Then it comes off before turning on the TV

It drives me nuts when people leave the protective film on top of everything (understandable if you may return it still, but it's stupid for normal use).

Edit to say....You buy an HD high end piece of home theater and you don't remove the shipping protective cover!!!! I am beside myself with this question!! You want the best picture and you would leave the shipping cover on!!! I don't believe it!!! |
When I ran the pawn shop, I got a kick out of the people who brought them in with the manufacturer decals still on the screen.

It doesn't matter if it's off for returns. Do you keep the remote and batteries in their plastic wrap too? Lol
Leave it on until you can tell it's degrading the picture. Once you take it off, it's like a new TV all over again.

ETA: I am assuming this is the plastic on the bezel, have not seen a display with plastic on the screen in more then 5 years (I install tvs for a living) |

Not only do I kept he film on the screen, I just leave mine in the box. Provides protection.
I said to myself........"why the fuck is this TV so fucking blurry!!?? "....................then I took the film off.

Holy crap, this is stuff my dad does.
Remodeled the kitchen, high end ovens and fridge.. the plastic that covers the control panel he wont remove because he doesnt want it to get scratched. Did i mention the kitchen was done 5 years ago Ever time i go over there it bugs me to no end, especially now theyre all worn out, and theres a nice shiny piece underneath. |

View Quote That's like the ever popular "no eating in the room with the new carpet" rule. No way in hell that rule is going to last long. I was always tempted to just spill something on purpose to break the ice. |

View Quote My Dad's phone and laptop both have the plastic on them. He removed the one covering the screen, all the rest remain. His laptop is several years old and the plastic on the back of the monitor is all dirty and dog eared. Every time I go over there, I slowly peel it back another 1/4in or so. Drives him nuts. |
