Well? What do you have any would you buy it again? My better half and I are looking to get one, and I'll be installing it.

We've been looking at the Insinkerator Evolution Excel 1HP, but it's a little spendy at $315.

Will any of those fancy electronic space age gizmos turn into bacon?  I didn't think so.

I'd get a baby piglet, but I'd probably get drunk and go on a bender and end up with bacon.

Thus would be the circle of piglets.

Years ago I was recommended a Waste King by the fine members of this board. It has worked fine. I would buy again.

1 hp? How much & what kind of stuff do you put down that thing?
1/2-3/4 will suit most peoples needs. You just don't run it much. Maybe what 2 times a week for 5-10 seconds?
Insinkerator is a good one.

Why do you need/want one?  It's just something else to break, it's not that hard to put the chicken bones in the trash vs the sink or waste can be composted for those that want to take the extra step.  If people would quit putting unnecessary stuff down the sink, waste water treatment would get cheaper.

Haven't had one in 3 years, no problems.  Previous house I put a 1hp Waste King in.  It was fine, shook the counters a good bit thought.  Subconsciously, only ever put anything down it to justify buying and installing it.

I am currently doing a kitchen remodel.  I need 3 disposals.

I originally bought the $99 model, off the shelf from Costco.  Even before I took them out of the boxes......I read tons  of crappy reviews online.  I thought about how I like to throw everything I can down the drain......so I took them back and bought the Insinkerator Evolutions, only because those models have tons of great reviews.  I have yet to install them.

I currently have Insinkerators and they have worked fine for 25 years. They are starting to jam up and stop more often, that is why I decided to replace them.

The "InSinkErator Evolution Excel 1-HP Garbage Disposal with Sound Insulation" on Lowes.com looks pretty good.  520 reviews, very highly-rated.  I have zero experience with it but if that many reviews agree with each other...

Funny this thread popped up. Yesterday, I had a crazy late afternoon drying, bleaching and fixing the sink cabinet because of the insinkerator crapping out. I am planning to go with either a Waste King or just replace the pipes.

If I do decide to replace it, I will keep a bucket under it in case of another surprise (the silent bottom leak).

I have a 1hp kenmore that's been doing yeoman's work for over 9 years.

I just installed a Waste King 1hp in my parent's house that I ordered from Amazon.  It was a realy good sale price and a Consumer Reports rated them as the highest.  I know, I know, CR can't be pretty hit and miss and it's only been a month, but so far that Waste King is very powerful and extremely quiet.  You can hear it down shift for more power under a decent load of material.

I have the cheapest Insinkerator model (1-56A, 1/3HP) that was installed by the contractor when I had my house built seventeen years ago.
It is still working fine and never given me any problems.
The Insinkerator seems to be a pretty good unit so I guess anything bigger is just going to be better....

I have the Insinkerator Evolution Excel.   I installed it 8 years ago and have had zero problems.  It's quiet and looks good (not that anyone in my house but me appreciates that aspect)
