For some reason I'm drawing a blank..

Lamborghini Marzal, at least very similar. But it was a concept, how many were made ?

At first I thought old Lambo.

Photobucket derped it. On the original I can zoom in and there is an emblem

Red and green stripes with something written in script.

Ill see if I can upload a zoomed in version

ETA: It's the Ghia logo . Might be a Pantera Mangusta that someone fucked up

Pantera had fender flares and had a ford 5 lug wheel pattern.

Well, all I've seen did. So I'm  thinking it's not a Pantera.

Might be some other type of kit car.
Vent window screams Pantera though.

ETA
I just noticed the thing isn't even strapped down.

He said the back end had "big brake lights, that were vertically segmented. Above that it looked like the turn signals and back up lights were recessed into the body."

I called him we haven't spoken in a while just talk in texts but this is bugging me.

Not a Pantera - Rake on the vent window segment is too extreme.

Not an Espirit - Side marker is on the wrong place, wrong size wheels and bonnet is too long.

I think it's a Mangusta.  It would have to be a pretty early one not to have flared fenders.

I don't think so.  Besides the side marker placement and wheel arches, the line of the hood and fender don't match the Mangusta

Despite the plastic models, I don't find a single picture of a real one with mirrors on the fenders

Considering the Ghia badge, I'm 99% sure it's some kind of concept car that was sold to another company to use as their own.

Looks like it was DeTomaso in this instance.

Should have asked the UHaul driver. He probably wouldn't mind.

I once had a guy come upto me at a Big 5 (sporting good store) and ask me what kind of car I had. He said he had followed me about 3 miles to find out! Kinda creepy

I was waiting for my turn to get onto the freeway onramp - some guy stopped next to me in some van (his lane to go keep going straight was clear) and stopped traffic in that lane for about 4 min to ask me what kind of car, and if was "faster than a stock ctsv" and other stupid ass random questions.  People in his lane were honking and everything.

People do weird shit for to find out a type of car

Car was a debadged Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 in Maroon red.
