Looks like a straight axle on that thing. Hmmm..no independant suspension, lotsa power with relatively no weight...so when it bogs down, it goes down quick and hard...I would look into getting a winch my friend.
I buried my Polaris 500 in swamp over the fenders, by myself, and the winch saved my proverbial ASS!!!! Signed... The "never stuck since I got a winch" Kurt_Austin |

thats why you bring your own anchor along too.
either a snow anchor, or a stake to drive into the ground. |

[BD] LOL beekeeper :) Hopefully a winch for each atv, some larger tires and lift kit will help. Kurt_Austin, I've tried the polaris and loved the plush ride but didn't care for the rest of the machine. Not my cup of tea I guess. Whats scary is that 650 of hers will go 65 mph in the snow, I just can't talk anyone into riding on an innertube behind the bike :) Does anyone else love to ride ATV's?? |

Fun, must be nice to have snow, our section of Colorado is pretty dry. I might not even take out the snowmobiles this winter.

Regarding riding in the tundra...
I used to ride a Honda foreman 4 tracks 350cc on very large frozen lakes. This was in Maine back in the late 80's. I hade a come-a-long but there is nothing to anchor it to on the ice. Suffice to say, when you hit a big slush hole on a huge lake and get stuck hard, it can be dangerous. My solution was this: Strap Ice auger with a 10" bit (post hole driller for you southern folks)on the back of the ATV . This is used to drill holes in the ice to fish thru. Stap 3 foot section of telephone pole on front of ATV. If you get stuck, drill hole 2 feet into ice (its usually 4 foot plus deep) slide section of telephone pole into the hole and use it as an anchor for the come-a-long. Its saved my bacon a few times. Neat trick for you ice fisherman on ATV's. A bonus is that the added weight helps with traction in the snow and ice. |

I love My 2000 Yamaha Kodiak. Would've been nice to plow snow with it so far this winter, but the damn thing won't start.
Which reminds Me, when I try to crank Her up, I get this fairly loud 'buzzing' noise from under the seat. Any thoughts on the culprit...seeing as a mechanic I'm NOT!! |

When I turn the key to the "ON" position I get a buzzing sound for a couple seconds, it's the computer checking parameters. Yours may have the same type setup. Not to be a smart A$$ but is the bike in neutral when you try to crank it?? On the kawi's you have to either be in neutral or have the left hand brake pulled in to start the bike. When you try to start the bike what happens?? Does it try to turn over at all?? Have you tried to kick/pull start the bike instead of using the electric starter?? |

Lil Ops and i putt around on a Yama350 Big Bear. Lotsa fun, goes anywhere, and needs no roads. Next trick is to figure out how to shoot from the saddle. Snow is fun, but get those gravedigger tires off it and it wont bury itself next time. Ops
