Dayton Bag and Burlap,* Dayton, Ohio, has been awarded a maximum $74,098,240 modification (P00101) exercising the first option period on a two-year base contract (SPM8E6-12-D-0005) with three one-year option periods for acrylic sandbags. This is a fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment contract. Location of performance is Ohio with a May 24, 2015 performance completion date. Using military services are Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2014 defense working capital funds. At first I was like $75M for sand bags
 Then again we use a metric shit ton of sand bags every year for just about everything so no big deal. If each bag costs a $1 it seems reasonable.

Well since the National Guard hands out prob 2 -3 mil per flood plus add in what the .mil uses on a daily basis probably just about the right amount with some spares. Think about how many sand bags it takes to sand bag a house 2 feet in a flood. Now multiply that by thousands or 10's of thousands. |
