A Wilson woman faces an animal cruelty charge after sheriff’s deputies say she broke a dog’s front legs and three of its ribs.

McNair has six other pending charges in Wilson County, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor simple assault, causing injury to personal property, disorderly conduct and driving while license revoked.

Where's the dog now? Can somebody in North Carolina find out if that poor dog received treatment?

ETA: I just spoke to the Sheriff's Office. The dog was rescued.

Deshawnda Lenay McNair, 21, of 1105 Lincoln St. Southeast, was arrested Tuesday. Deputies said she injured a white and tan mixed-breed dog, causing two broken front legs, three broken ribs and two cuts to its front-left paw, according to an arrest warrant.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office charged McNair with felony cruelty to animals. A Wilson County magistrate released her on a $3,000 unsecured bond, court records show.

McNair has six other pending charges in Wilson County, including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, misdemeanor simple assault, causing injury to personal property, disorderly conduct and driving while license revoked.
