Damn, sorry for your loss. He looks just like the cat I had as a child.

these threads kill me.
I have an orange tabby that i pulled from his mother in may 1999. He will be 15 in a couple of weeks. Right now you couldnt guess his age, he gets around fine and is healthy. But i know his time is coming soon. I hope he will be one of those 25+ year old cats. But enough about mine. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear this OP. This one hits a little closer to home, as Ashton looks like my cat (but skinnier). RIP Ashton.

Kitty is at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you. View Quote Aww man, I remember this from Dear Abby long long ago. http://www.petloss.com/rainbowbridge.htm Godspeed Ashton! Sorry for you loss OP. |

Man that's rough.. Glad you got to spend some time with him at the end. I understand what you mean when you say you were petting him and he kept moving around like he didn't want you to let him or he couldn't get comfortable. It's a sign they are in pain and near the end. He is not in pain any more, he is in a warm, fuzzy, dry, grass filled place with plenty of treats and endless glasses of water to push off the table without anybody getting upset..
Little furry ninjas take up a pretty big spot in your heart, sorry you lost him. |

I'm sorry for your loss. I highly recommend people look at pet food, and try to go with American made, and sourced over Chinese sourced. We have had cats get tumours, and other internal problems from the food from China. I now feed my pets better than I eat, and it's worth it.

Sorry man. I had to put mine down a few months ago and it sucks.

Having just lost my best friend Wizard in early February, I know what you're experiencing.
Remember the good times, remember the loving times, remember the warm companionship. Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. Mary Elizabeth Frye My heartfelt condolences, brother. |

My daughter has a cat that looks exactly like yours and he's sleeping on my bed now. His mother who was only 4, who I spent a lot of money on surgery saving just vapor locked under our Christmas tree the day before last Christmas. It's tough but remember the good memories. I'm not a cat person but I find myself attached. The one on my bed right now will be there until morning and if I get too close in the middle of the night he'll swat me and want to be let outside in the morning. Sorry for your loss OP.

This is so hard to go through...lost my first-born. Still hurts. (Wish I knew how to post photos..duh.) I could meow or talk to him...he always knew what I was saying.
RIP Ashton. RIP J.E.B. |

Sorry about your loss.
I got two Maine Coons (from the same litter) in 1993. One, Leviathan, was eaten by cancer in 2006. . His sister, Behemoth, is still with me. At 21 years old, she is getting frail, but still runs up and down the stairs and seems in good spirits. It will break my heart when her time is up. |

Sorry for your loss, buddy. I'm dreading the day my my little pal leaves me. She is laying next to my right now. I had to give her a hug after reading your post...

Sorry to read this but it sounds like you gave him a great home while he was here.

The juice is worth the squeeze. Their companionship is well worth the heartbreak

Thank you all so much for your kind words and warm reception. I enjoyed seeing and reading about all your little buddies, too.
I read the Rainbow Bridge poem, which managed to put a smile on my face. ar-jedi, I missed your thread, it's easy to do here. I'm glad I was able to read it now, you have a beautiful family and home. So many adorable pics you have. We have a leopard-skin window-sill lay similar to yours. Ashton loved hopping in boxes, too. That pic drinking out of faucet, Ashton loved to drink out of the bathtub faucet. I'd give in multiple times per day, as he'd follow me in. He used to like taking showers with us, though he'd sometimes have enough and start clawing before shampoo completely washed out. Thank you all, it was too difficult to post this last night. I'll check back tomorrow, have a few more memories I'd like to share about my time with Ashton. |
