What is the difference between glass and crystal? Which one is it that the girls with high pitched voices shatter?

The European definition of lead crystal is glass that contains a minimum of 24% lead oxide, a feature that once contributed to its reputation for quality.

IIrc, any cut glass can be described as crystal. If it says leaded crystal, it must have some lead content.
I don't know which type breaks easiest from sound waves, but they both break about the same when hit with 5.56.

I tend to stay away from leaded crystal, since studies showed that the lead can leach out into your liquids and food, especially those stored in the crystal, such as brandy in a decanter.
