It would be interesting to overlay the map of most obesity, lowest test scores, poverty, teen pregnancy etc.  and compare

Lived in Chattanooga my whole life . The ranking doesnt surprise me . A lot of people here think they know the bible .

As a Catholic I'd argue that most of the Catholics I know fit into the criteria of "don't read the bible and don't care about what it says" this is based on. You could add in "don't think the Catholic Church is correct and only maybe show up to mass on Christmas if we didn't drink too much and only call myself Catholic because I think it's some kind of ethnicity and not a free choice" into that as well.
