This cold dry weather plus work is tearing my hands up. Knuckles and joints cracking. I've been using Burt's Bees and it helps. Is there anything better?

Haven't used Burt's.

Usually the Equate (WalMart) version of Aveeno (oatmeal base?) lotion.
You can cut it a little with water and thin it out if you like. Not greasy like some of the others.

When I was laying floor tile during the winter I used This.

I couldn't believe how well and how fast it healed my hands (and my hands were really bad).

Neutrogena hand cream. Comes in a small little bottle. I have the same problems as you. 2 weeks before fall my hands start getting tucked, and they only get worse. I HATE using lotion. So this shot really helps/ works. I can have a rough work day on the hands, put the shit on at night, next day I'm gtg.

Its cell to have something so effective I only have to use it when I need it, and not be constantly lotioning up.

I like "O'keeffe's working hands". It doesn't dry greasy which is good for driving, shooting, etc and it's awesome at fixing up cracking hands.

Bag Balm.. I've heard of that and completely forgot about it. I think I'll try it.

The Burt's Bees is very good but just doesn't seem to really help heal very much. Gives relief but not much more.

Ballistol was originally intended as a 19th century CLP, but also a leather dressing and a salve for small injuries. It's base is mineral oil, it's non-toxic. Old german mothers would give the kids a dose of that instead of, say, castor oil.

I'm not shitting you. Go dump some Ballistol on your hands and rub it in.

It's good it finds other weird uses too, because it's shit for lube on a semi.

Something with a high concentration of petroleum jelly in it. Vaseline brand has a lot of products out there. If your hands are really that bad, take a little petroleum jelly and rub it over your hands before going to bed, not a lot, just enough for a thin coat. Then take an old pair of socks and put them over your hands. The sock will help prevent you from getting everything covered with vaseline and it also keeps it on your hands. Do this for a few nights in a row and during the day keep using something to moisturize your hands. Good luck.

I just looked at the bottle.

Intensive repair - very dry skin formula.

Goes on real wet. But works great.

My cuticles and inside parts of my thumbs were the worst.

I put it on and rubbed it in real good before bed.

We use aquaphor at our home almost exclusively. I also recommend trader joes moisturizing cream. 3.99 for 16 oz and it is very good stuff.

Best stuff I've ever used is IC Lotion.

The backstory on this is that most circuit boards are stuffed by women (smaller hands). Women use good hand lotion. Lotion leaves a greasy residue which contaminates the board and causes issues (bad solder joints for one).

So the electronics industry (in general) had someone make a lotion that met 2 criteria.

1) It must be as good or, preferably, better than the majority of commercial lotions. If it isn't, the women on the line won't use it.

2) It must not contaminate the PCBs.

That is where IC Lotion comes from. I haven't used it in over a decade, but last time I did it still rocked.

Coconut oil, cheap, pleasing aroma, a little greasy until it soaks in, but it keeps skin soft and supple. Be sure to get the jar for cooking in the grocery store.
