If you want to keep up with economic news, watch the employment statistics.

IMHO, it's the most important measure of the economy.  (Fewer jobs means fewer people to pay for Obama's social programs, more people on the gubbment teat.)

The number of people seeking U.S. unemployment benefits rose 68,000 last
week to a seasonally adjusted 368,000, the largest increase in more
than a year.

Intresting how a month after being accused of falsifying data the numbers jump.

Don't worry about it.   Pelosi told us that more unemployment = more jobs, somewhere around 500 million more jobs!

But the economy is bouncing back. Obama said so.

Fucking jugeared traitor bastard.

Here is the U6 Unemployment Rate. This is a little closer to the reality of what the actual unemployment numbers are. The way I read this is Companies are finding ways to grow and survive in this economy despite what BHO is doing. It's better but we're still far off from where we were 10 years ago. Without all the added Govt. Interference and Regulation we would be even better off.

Should be falling with the holiday hires up and running. Or are they cutting them off now after the Thanksgiving shopping rush is over?

Notice also the Labor Participation Rate continues to decline, now down to 63.0%.

I don't even pay attention to the numbers anymore because I know that they are fudged.

But it went up from 62.8% last month so the Libs are screaming that the economy is improving even as the trend is down.

Essentially. Pump em out through the beginning of halloween to have them ready by black Friday. Term the shit bags the following Monday after Thanksgiving. keep everybody who's not a complete fuck up. Work them 4-6 hours 3 days a week.

They should be up until January. So the drop I would think will not show up until the Jan. numbers are released the first week of Feb. 2014. Then you will see if the rate dropped from Nov / Dec. to Jan.

I'm getting to that point.  However, even if the numbers published were correct, would that change any policy?

That was my first thought- the shopping season fizzled.

If you like you're unemployment numbers, you can keep them.

If you don't, we'll be happy to make up some different ones...

Unpossible.
Top men have assured us the economy is recovering, damn-it.
These are not the unemployment numbers you are looking for.
We're doing fine.

***sarcasm for those with broken meters...

Bad.  Bad.  Bad.   They are manipulating the numbers, and the numbers are still looking bad.

Here's the workforce participation rate, per the Dept of Labor.  And they are reporting an official unemployment rate of ~7%...

Did it impact the unemployment rate , or just the number overall of new filings?

The numbers have nothing to do with each other.  Both are projections, not real measurements.  They are fantasy numbers put out for low information voters.
