Before I changed careers to the IT Profession, spent 3.5 years building custom cars and hot rods at a shop in Denver.  Off and on for the whole time I was there I was involved in building a 50 Ford Woody.  Stayed there up until the day I went to work for IBM to try and finish this car.  Saw it done wired and driving, but never saw the interior.

I had to do the brakes on my car this last Mon. and stopped by Zoomers (the shop where I used to work) because I still by parts on their account at wholesale.  Lee (the owner) showed me a bunch of pics on a plaque of the Rod & Custom article on the Woody.

Probably built 85% of this car including chopping the top!!  I had chopped tops before, but never like this!

I remember when Lee had me do it, I was so freaked, I couldn't sleep for a few days when I started cutting the top off!!

Ya know, when I got the Damn thing back from paint, and got her wired and fired up the Motor for the first time, (used LT1 Vette Motor), she was thudding pretty loud.  Had to pull the heads on a freshly painted hot rod to pull a piece of welding slag out of the #2 cyl.  Given the volume of duct tape I had over the plenum, I couldn't tell you how it got in there. What a pain that was!!

Oh, and Arock, what are these pics, in sane salvador dali meets hot rod hell.

Those are Robert Williams' artwork.  Robert is one of the original ZAP cartoonists (along with Stanley Mouse, Clay Wilson, Vic Moscoso, Robert Crumb, Rick Griffin, Kim Deitch, and Spain Rodriguez) from the 1960's and 1970's and one king-hell bitch of a wildman.  The photo of him on his panhead is from Ed (Big Daddy) Roth's studio "parking lot" in 1967.  With Cob Remover in hand, [b]"Grab Yuh Ankles, America!"[/b]
