I'm very interested in knowing what cartridge can't get through a cell phone.  Of course 25 ACP is on top of the list, but it could've been an old crappy cartridge that was past its prime.

I'm interested as well. First glance had me thinking it was a .177 airgun but a pic of the backside of the phone shows that the battery absorbed the round.
Not aware of a .25 calibre revolver, might have been a .22LR but at that range I still think it would have penetrated.
Entrance hole looks to small to be 9mm...

could just be very lucky.

there was that mugshot of one guy who got shot in the head by swat with an mp5 and the bullet bounced off his skull.

Maybe it's just one of those things that's more bullet resistant than one would think. I never would've thought a crappy tasco scope would stop a full sized rifle round til I saw that one episode of myth busters.

My old casio stopped a 9mm and 40 from a glock 19 23, but its about 3 times as thick as a normal phone

I have the same phone as in the picture. I enlarged the monitor to the same size as my phone and measured the hole. It measures at 1/4 inch. .22lr is the most likely culprit.
