Slammed about 1000 pounds into my right ankle this morning. The only saving grace is I was able to turn the pallet jack inward at the last second so worse case scenario I have a sprained ankle....Right now it's just really swollen and while I can put weight on it it hurts like a son of a bitch.

Nut up, Nancy.  You've got another one just like it, and we're not nearly out of dirt to rub on there.

Well limping worse than Blackbeard probably doesn't look good. Honestly I was gonna just work through it but it got more swollen as the morning went on.

In my experience a sprained ankle CAN be worse than a broken ankle...  Fricken bruises like that can take weeks if not months to heel heal.

Did mine really good once. Turned black, blue and orange, swelled 3/4ths the way up to my knee!

Need pics OP to determine your level of deserved sympathy.

Go see a foot specialist ASAP.

I crushed my lower ankle joint 6 years ago, was in constant pain till

he fused the joint. Your ankles are priceless!

I have done a number on both my ankles. Get your ass in a chair and that foot up with some ice. The booze idea is a good one two, advil to reduce swelling, but not with the booze

I did PT on a seriously damaged ankle for 6 months.  When I didn't recover fully, I had an MRI done.  After that, it went to surgery.  More PT.  Now, I have no cartilage.  Get it checked out sooner than later.

Ice, elevation, rest, dedicated PT.  Long road in front of you.

It sucks. My foot bent backwards a couple months ago.  Totally wrecked my ankle. I left for Thailand the next day. Rest time? Nope nope nope. Couple days lugging bags through airports then work work.

It's still messed up.

Don't do like I did. Rest it. Perhaps get it checked out.

Mine is still messed up months later. It is gradually improving but I think a few days of rest after it happened would have made all the difference in the world.

Minor pic. It had swelled up on both sides to where I could barely walk on it. You can see the lump on the right side. I will say keeping it elevated and beer did help :P

Honestly I count myself lucky.....Any faster and I would have had a broken ankle.

It you had man ankles instead of vagina ankles you wouldn't be crying right now.

Rub some dirt on it

That looks strangely like the lump that is on mine. It's almost gone now, months later. Ankle's still weak and rather sore if I'm on my feet all day, but still gotta get shit done.

By the time I got to thailand my foot was every color other than white. black, blue, purple, green, bits of yellow.

Coulda been worse.  Just last year, I saw the aftermath of a new guy panicking on a pallet jack at work, when it wouldnt stop (condensation on the floor near the dock doors; refridgeration + warm weather = useless brakes).

He jumped off before hitting a wall, but ended up getting his foot between the jack and wall.  Pretty much snapped his foot in two (and his boot).  Massive amount of blood on the ground.  Looked like a murder scene
