I was wondering that myself.     Thats not a normal pilot thing on other Boeing products.

Any 747 typed pilots want to chime in?     Special test flight / mx procedures?

Came here to post this too. Strange. Can't seem to think of a purpose for that.

Maybe they pulled breakers for the mains??

It is explained in one of the related videos.  They have an alternate extend system which allow them to select individual struts to lower.

747 does not have leading edge slats, it actually has leading edge Krueger flaps.  There is actually a distinct difference.  Slats extend from the leading edge, Krueger flats fold out from underneath the wing.  B737, 757, and 767 have a combination of leading edge slats and Krueger flaps.

New gear to be installed on a 757,  Yep, that's an Air Force C-40A in the background.

No problem.  Slats is in the lexicon enough, that everyone that isn't in maintenance or operations on planes just call them slats.

The 727 was especially dangerous with the Krueuger flaps, if you were careless.  You could turn on both electric hydraulic pumps, and if the flaps had drooped (and they did), they would stay still and hang there. If you opened the ground interconnect valve with the pumps on, the Krueuger flaps snapped right up in a hurry, and anything that was in it's path of travel got caught between the wing lower surface and the flap.  This included tools, hats, hands, and heads.  They would also suck up flush if you motored or started number 1 or 2 engine, and they were much slower, but you're just talking semantics at this point.  There was a delta mechanic that was killed because, he didn't have the proper safety locks in place, and another mechanic motored an engine to look for an oil leak.  No one saw or heard the mechanic down on the wing struggling, as he essentially had his neck crushed by the flaps retracting to the faired position.

I suspect the background music is a song from Ministry of Sound, and it's tripping Google's automated copyright thing but only on random people?  I haven't heard this song from Ministry of Sound, but it sounds very similar.
