Yeah, they ride in the fast lane, drive with their left blinker on, drive too slow, take too much time at the checkout counter, BUT ONCE UPON A TIME..........

This same old man might have been clawing his way up a beach made of volcanic sand......

This same old man might have shrunk in terror from a Japanese depth charge........

This same old man might have looked out through an open window at 25,000 ft, to see an on-coming FW190......

This same old man might have once had to scramble out of a burning M4 before its' fuel and ammo expoded.....

This same old man might have held the wire cutters that freed thousands.........

This same old woman might have worked countless hours in a factory so her husband could go off to save the world......

These same old people who seem to drive us all crazy are the same old people we owe EVERYTHING we have to.........

Happy Veterans' Day

God Bless our Vets! They are the only reason that we live the way we do today! They have my ultimate respect.

As usual, you guys got me thinking. My grandfather was a vet. He passed away six months ago, and I never really asked him about his experiences in WWII. It would have been interesting to know what he went through and I have only read about. He was always someone that I looked up to. We did have a lot of good times, and I will always remember those!

2 years ago on Veterans Day I gave my dad an M-1 carbine I had got a gun show knowing that's what he carried in WW2. When he picked it up he whispered "my god" and had a far away look in his eyes. Had to go outside and have a smoke so he would'nt see my eyes water up. Very touching time for both of us. My hats off for all vets today.
