I tried to send a letter to one of my commercial tenants and it was rejected as undeliverable.
I spoke to the local post master and he said that tenant has a PO box and is not accepting mail at the physical address.

After I hung up I got to thinking...How is that possible?  USPS is usually not that accomodating in my experience.
Can one really permanently refuse delivery at a physical address?

ETA: It just seems odd...it's as if the address doesn't exist even though there is a mailbox there.
Also, its a quad and they deliver to the other 3 tenants.

You can stop your mail any time. I would assume if you have a PO box stopping delivery is probably pretty common.

The point is you either don't have the space to take that much mail a day, or you're not around and don't want your mail piling up.




Or you don't wasn't people to know where you live..  

Simple... Remove the mail box!

Is he physically close to that Post Office?

The Practice I work for 'bought' (took over as a courtesy) a small office near where I live.     We went to ensure the PO knew we were here, and that they could deliver mail to the practice (the prior Foot Dr. had been out due to medical issues for many months).    

Because we were so close to the PO, they won't deliver mail to the actual address...we'd have to get a PO Box.   Simple solution...all mail goes to the main office.
