Who here had to show some ID when voting?

Here in Lancaster, PA, I didn't, just sign my name.

Personally, I think that IDs should be required, because otherwise there is some potential for voting fraud. We all know which party that comes from too.

I was asked for one piece of ID, but am pretty sure you can vote without it just from signature comparison and verification of place of residence.

I wasn't asked for ID, nor was anyone else while I was there. I don't even think that they compared signitures. I think showing ID shoud be required. By the way Bartlett TN is my location.

No ID required here if you're already registered. Just have to tell them your name, they check it off their list and then you vote.

You can register the day of the election too.

I was not asked for ID, nor did I see anyone else asked. They do have a photocopy of your signature that you have to sign next to on the roll books.

Big sign at entrance, stating ID required:

Driver liscense
Voter ID card
and a few aothers

did see them verifying the ID used

Saw one person mistakenly given two ballots, turn in the extra (must have been a republican [:)] )

No ID or signature. They just asked your street address and name.

I'm in Idaho... hadn't voted in awhile and moved to a new city, so I had to re-register. The guy at the desk had me fill out a card, told me I needed ID with a local address. I filled out the card, gave it to him, (was holding my ID but hadn't shown it to him yet) he looked the registration card over, then without checking my ID he sent me to the area to give another person my registration card, they wrote my name down, gave me a ballot and I voted. No one ever checked my ID. I didn't know these people, they had no idea who I was. Crazy...

Here in beautiful Georgia you can use your concealed weapons permit as a means of identification. I handed my voter ID and my Georgia Firearms License to two older ladies working at my polling location. They both looked at me a little funny and asked each other if this is a valid form of identification. Finally they found it on their id checklist and were a little surprised.

Check your list of valid forms of id in your state for concealed weapons permits. It makes voting a more fun activity.

Absolutely not true. The racists here tried that garbage in the 60's in an attempt to intimidate blacks when voting. I helped many people at the polls in about six different elections who otherwise would have been turned away by the illegal demand for "papers," the illegal demand for a signature (versus a mark), or the illegal literacy demand (in other words, tried to keep others from assisting the voter because they couldn't read the instructions). It wasn't too long ago that the state of Georgia even tried to make the demand for identification into state law, before the federal government stepped in to stop it. Remember, voting is a right.z

No ID required down here in Mobile, Alabama. As long as you can guess a name that hasn't already been checked off, you get to vote. Ha ha. Seriously, no signature comparison or anything. Of course, in Alabama, you are required to have liability insurance to get your tags, but you don't have to bring proof to get the tag, just sign something saying you have insurance. We aren't really concerned with the specifics here....

They never ask. I usually [i]voluntarily[/i] show them my voter's id card so they can find my name easier.

I worked at a precinct in CA all day yesterday. No ID required, just name & address, though some people voluntarily handed theirs over.
