My oldest daughter is home for a week after completing basic and AIT (Medic), and before going back to her Guard unit in CT, she wanted to go to the range and shoot rifles. So we did.

Her in AIT

We practiced 25 yard chest shots and 10 yard head shots.

She starts back at graduate school in a few weeks, so between that and her National Guard duties, she should be fairly busy, so I'm glad she had time for some range time with the old man. Needless to say I am very proud of her.

Damn brother; trifecta.

1. Nice looking young lady you raised there.

2. Serving our country

3. Range time

I bow to your greatness.

Edit -- just to clarify my understand of "daughter" vs "SO".

Good job.

Did she shoot before the army? Does she do it better now? Or handle the weapom differently?

Are you gonna make her clean it for 4 hours before you inspect it?

I can still outshoot her, but she is getting much better now that she had formal training.

She was always talking during training about how much rifle simulator time she got, and that she would get on the simulator whenever she had a chance.

She knew how to shoot well before basic, and how to disassemble and clean an M16 rifle, so she had no problems with qualification and had a leg-up on the maintenance part of marksmanship.
