Hypothetically speaking and for instance, if I lived in a place like southern California and the Rodney King civil verdicts were about to be announced, I would not leave the house without a firearm concealed about my person. Also, if my mother-in-law lived in a place like Cerritos, California, I might conceivably escort her that weekend to church and back, to the store and back, etc, carrying a firearm all the while.
But the police are there to protect us, so this hypothetical discussion, while entertaining, is essentially pointless.
