An ex-friend of mine did and several of my wife's friends do.

Understand that if you're working for an Indian reservation that most labor laws do not apply there - breaks, holiday pay, over time, workmen's compensation, discrimination/harassment laws ...

Sucked ASS!  Worked ~6 months in a large 'Native American' casino in southern twin cities.

SUCKED!  Big-time!

Occupation: Valet Runner.
Pay: Sucked + Tips.

Gripes:
1.)  You have ZERO legal recourse on 'rez'!

2.)  The tribal council leader can get drunk, smack your head with the car door, and you can't do shit about it - See #1.

Same tribal council leader can stumble around the gaming floor loaded up on 'fire water' (followed by security with backpacks) and drop trou right in front of 700+ people - while the security rushes in to hold up blankets all around him - and takes a monster size steaming SHIT all over the gaming floor carpet!  (My brother worked security briefly)

Same tribal council leader, after a night of raising hell all over the place, can slam my hands in the trunk of his car after I just lifted his suitcase / bags into the trunk, and can't do shit about it - See #1!

3.)  CO-WORKERS can sucker-punch you from behind and STEAL your $100 TIP - right in front of security cameras, and laugh about it as he runs away with your $100.  After managers review the security footage they tell you to See #1 - you have no legal recourse to get your $100 back, nor to charge your co-worker with assault.

Ergo, when I ambushed him in a back stairwell to the underground parking garage, kicked the hell out of him while he was down, and took my $100 back out of his wallet - he was told to See #1.

4.)  The food was dirt-cheap, and pretty good.  So the lunch breaks in the employee's restaurant was pretty good - especially when the temps outside were -10 degrees F outside, and you just spent the last 7 hours heating up, charging, and jump starting dumb shits that brought in Diesel cars & trucks (since most of your co-workers are too dumb to know how to do this safely / correctly), and it seriously cut into your ability to get tips!

5.)  The girls that wear skimpy clothes & walk around with drinks / smokes are often married or in serious relationships, but MOST of them are also major SLUTS, and would spend some time with customers in the hotel if the can find a way to do so for $,$$$ without getting caught by bosses / management.  Most 'hook-ups' were done in the parking lots/ramps (fewer cameras).

6.)  NEVER!  EVER!  EVER Park your car in Valet parking if it's a vehicle costing more than the average Toyota Camry!

If it's a COOL car, it's a ~50:50 chance it's going to be fucked with!  Rev the engines near redline, try to kick the turbo on, fucking with the sound system, blaring & blowing out speakers (common), attempting burn-outs in the parking garage, etc...  All kinds of asshattery from dumb shits that could NEVER afford such a car in their lifetime...  These are mostly X-Box junkies that learned how to drive by playing Gran Tourismo, or Grand Theft Auto!

Most modern casinos have automated camera systems.  Car pulls up out front, greeter lets you out (and gets any tips when pulling up) - So DO NOT bother telling a greeter 'take care of my baby (car) for me!'  They have NOTHING to do with your car, and they just took the tip for opening the door.  Drivers usually are only allowed to get tips after RETURNING cars safely & undamaged to their owners.  Driver takes car from entry, down through a tunnel or around back, and scans his badge at the gate.  Gate takes ~18 photos all around and above as well upon entry...  Any damage done in the tunnel or on the way to the parking lot is considered "Prior" to taking possession - and this is usually when drivers fuck around in cool cars!  Instead of going through the tunnel they'll turn out, and fly around the parking lot, the back employee roads, and all over hell, THEN take it into the tunnel / ramp / lot!  The car sits until you have the casino return it.  A driver gets a ticket from the kiosk, runs to the parking stall, drives car to exit of ramp - another ~18 photos are taken, and then it goes over to the entry to pick up the Owner.  Driver HOPEFULLY gets a tip, then runs off back to the kiosk to get a ticket.

7.)  Some drivers (male & female) will be dating each other, and often have a 'game' to see how expensive of a car they can have sex in, and get away with it!  While the car is in the ramp, they'll track down a Lambo, or Ferrari, or Lotus, and they'll climb inside & fuck like sea otters in heat.  Climb out, and nobody can pin it on them, since neither of them were the person to drive it into, or out of the ramp (having their ID scanned).

8.)  Employees usually operate on a "Points" system.  5 points and you're fired.  Points leave your record every few months.  A valet runner with 0 points applies for 5 days off so he can have a full 1 week vacation.  Management denies it, only approves 2 days so he can have a 4 day weekend vacation.  Pissed off valet driver climbs into a customer's brand new Cadillac.  Drives through tunnel, scans badge, flips off camera while smiling, and then jams on the gas through the entry gate.  Opens driver door & bails out while car picks up speed to 35+ MPH.  Careening down the parking ramp, narrowly missing dozens of parked cars on the sides, the Caddy miraculously makes it to the end or the ramp - ***WHAM!*** Right into a solid reinforced concrete wall!  Totals the Caddy!

Driver has 0 points on his record, and a minor SCRATCH or fender bender is 3 points and 3 days suspension - as is the same punishment for a blatant disregard for the customers' vehicles - 3 points, and 3 days suspension!  SO, Driver now gets his 2 vacation days, PLUS his 3 suspension days, and he can still give his family a full 1 week vacation!  Meanwhile, the Casino Almoner tracks down the owner of said vehicle, informs him of the accident, and then gives them the option of paying for a replacement vehicle as closely resembling the driver's vehicle - OR, they can walk around the casino, and pick out any vehicle on display (with slot machines around it to win it), no matter the value, and they'll let him drive that home as soon as they can clear the vehicle out off the gaming floor.

ETA: Some stereotypes are true - black people are the worst tippers ever... One once passed me Seven (7) pennies & told me not to spend it in one place. I got 1 point on my record for throwing it back at him & telling him to spend it on better weave extensions for his lady friend... Ooooh She Mad!

These things are real - they really happen.

Did I mention - NEVER park your car with a Valet if it's anything better than a Carolla or Camry?
