KUWAIT, Oct. 14 —  The United States and its ally Kuwait appeared to be at odds over a new shooting incident involving U.S. soldiers on Monday. According to U.S. officials, shots were fired from two civilian vehicles at U.S. forces in a northern Kuwait training area. But several Kuwaiti officials said it was probably a group of bird shooters that fired in the air and alarmed the soldiers. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident, which comes less than a week after one U.S. Marine was killed and one was wounded when troops on exercise came under fire from civilian gunmen.
