You have been given $150,000 to spend on either a car or truck, boat, airplane or helicopter, or hookers.  If you choose one of the first three options, you cannot sell it, rent it out, or give it away, ever.  You can buy either new or used.  Your benefactor will also cover insurance, reasonable garaging, hangaring, or docking fees, repair and maintenance, and any required certification training.  You are responsible for fuel.

A pic would be nice, so the rest of us have something to drool over (not necessary if you chose hookers).  Since the ubiquitous "Pie" option is actually one of the choices, you must vote to see the results.

My choice:  1990s Mooney M20

Airplane. I'll build my own thank you. Dunno what I would build though. With that budget I'd have to do some shopping.

ETA: Might go helo if I can use whatever is left over from the 150k for fuel.

Hmm, that would be an interesting calculus to figure out how much plane you can afford vs quality of hookers. Are we talking an AN-2 filled with mediocre hookers or a nice RV-7 with one really hot hooker? Maybe somewhere in between. Get Keith to come up with a formula.

Airplane.

I don't think you could buy much helicopter with 150k.

My dad has a Mooney similar to the model shown, but I think it's a lot newer. I know it cost significantly more than the price you list.

At first I was thinking I would go for a boat since I don't know how to fly.  After some deep consideration I changed my vote to a car or truck.  That is something I would use and appreciate every day as opposed to an occasional outing on the water.  Also, a fancy car can be a chick magnet.

By all means, buy the airplane. I bought a Mooney last year and I could not be happier with my purchase. All American is a very reputable Mooney dealer as well. I would opt for an older one and save the extra cash. Having an airplane is a game changer like you wouldn't believe, from connections, business, travel and pie; it makes all of the above happen with much greater efficiency and success. PM me if you have any questions.

Some sort of STOL kit plane like a highlander from just aircraft, a cub variant from cub crafters or backcountry super cubs. Would prob. get the highlander with the SQ2 in close second. Or perhaps a Maule if i want more room and less limitations about when you can fly.

Highlander

You can get a hell of a lot of boat for $150k.  Cheaper to insure and maintain as well.

Dockage vs hangar may not work in your favor.

I voted for the vehicle, I would have voted hookers but think my wife wouldn't like that much.

Probably get a couple of wreckers and hire people to run them.  I like reliable vehicles but they don't do much for me.  $40k plus vehicles I would rather just have the money go to my mortgage.  Guns and ammo is my only expensive hobby.

Then, once you get there, "you know, I'd love to have a drink, but I can't legally fly within 8 hours of having a drink. Why don't we get a room here for the night so I can have some drinks with you?"

I got my private pilots ticket and a few certifications for sailing.

I'd put a down payment on a cruising cat hands down.

Flying quickly became just another way to commute.  Rotary is somewhat fun, but what little time I spent learning it, it became the same story.

Hookers are rentals.  150k is rent to own money.

As for cars, that is a rich man's sport.  150k wont sustain you.

If you have a $150K car you don't need hookers

just drive around town and then throw the passenger door open

I would pick the car because a $150K buys a medium lame boat or plane but an awesome car

59,000 Euros.  Benefactor covering repairs and everything else.  Problem solved.

Hell, I could get two for 36000 Euros each.  Make one all fancy for driving around town, maybe put on some badass speakers and swap out the guns for water cannons or something cool.

(I'd go with something amphibious if I could, but there seem to be a dearth of those for sale right now that would be worth it.)
