Got to get one.  Will order tomorrow. Doing a last check, as things change so fast, and specials and deals come and go so quick.

What would you order right now for an inexpensive 2nd computer to link wireless to a cable modem, for internet, digital photos, word processing, quicken?

You had better gotten an Intel based computer. Intel is the only way to go

Here, but stay away from the VIA CPUs.

If you wanted a new AR, you'd prolly build it. Why nto build your own PC? It's really not that hard at all. That would be my personal choice... avoid buying a brand name.

Because some people would rather have a pre-assembled PC for which they have a warranty and a manufacturer to bitch at should things run downhill?

I know I am grinding my teeth everytime I see a message along the lines "Please contact your network administrator or your PC's manufacturer."

Because a man has to know his own limitations, and the value of his own time.  I have no skills in this area, and little inclination to spend the time to get up to speed.

I'm pretty good at some things.  I'm average at others.  I'm miserable at some.  I could easily see myself not properly discharging the static electricity in my body and frying the memory chip I was installing.

Glock,
You may hate to hear this, but, if you're not going to build it yourself, you probably should get a Dell.  Their customer support is second to none.  They always run specials, so check out places like FatWallet or Metapy for the latest.  Me, I like tinkering so I build all of mine, and I like AMD AthlonXP's so  [:D]

GLOCKshooter, Watch out. The computers on the Wolly World sight do not include the operating system or software package and have only an integrated video card that will sap system resources instead of the quality video cards used at Atlas Micro.

I did my research before my purchase and I have been very pleased with my system.
