So my co workers got into it about cleaning up the shop, called each other lazy fucks and after a little more arguing one guy said he could kick the other guys ass, never said he would. Then the other guy says "I'll part your hair with my .45" haha

So who's in there wrong here? Is threatening to part someone's hair with a 45 a crime? Lol
I couldn't help but laugh at the whole argument since it was pretty stupid

I would let the boss know and make it known that I felt threatened with someone threatening to "part someone's hair with a .45"

Idiots like this give all gun owners a terrible name and I don't care to work with someone who makes such threats or gets in fights at my place of employment.

Threatening to kick somebody's ass is a crime. If someone physically tries to do that to me they'll probably get a 45 slug. The correct response by the second coworker should have been "Make my day".

No it's not a crime by itself. The mere act of saying it doesn't mean you actually can or will do it and there may be no motive.

My friend [now retired] and myself used to talk some serious smack to each other to the point our boss pulled us aside and asked us if we wanted to be split up. We looked at each other and started laughing our asses off because we got along GREAT with each other and we did it just to pass the time and razz each other.
