She loves her iPhone 4, and uses it all the time. However her eyesight isn't as good as it once was, and it's sometimes difficult to read.
We have a macbook pro 17", but it's too heavy and bulky for casual use.
So naturally, I was thinking about getting her an iPad, and she herself as mentioned she wants an iPad. But her best friend who had an iPad first, then got an iPhone says that she barely uses her iPad anymore. Hmmmm....
I'd rather not spend $700.00 on a coffee table coaster.
I was very much like you about the iPad. I never really could see a benefit in it and was reluctant to part with so much cash.
That said, I got an iphone 4 about 2 years ago and found it to be easy to use, and have never had a compliant. I ended up buying an ipad 12 months ago, mostly for when I am away from home, but we have actually used it in awful lot within the home with instant access.
I must say that I'm not into the whole battle between Apple and non-Apple people. As far as i'm concerned the kit works, it's reliable and easy to use and if I look at the amount the kit gets used versus the cost (cost per hour use) the initial outlay becomes trivial in terms of pennies per hour.
If you get an ipad then it will be anything but a coffee table coaster. It will get used more than you think
