On my list so far are the Biltmore Estate about 2 hours away.
Any other suggestions in the general area?

This.  Tour the factory.  When I was there they were making all the Z-3's in america, I dont know what the line is making now, but its pretty darn cool.

I love Greenville.  Very nice town.

I am thinking you are referring to the city of Greensboro, NC....which is about 3 1/2 north of Greenville, SC.

+1 in the Peddler Steakhouse.  If you like steak you will enjoy the Peddler.  Just make sure to visit the one in Greenville.

Everybody always like Reedy Falls park when we visit.  PSA is only 80-85 miles south of Greenville if you feel like a drive.

Up north of there is a battlefield of importance named Cowpens. Further north is Kings Mountain. Asheville has good local restaurants.

Look around and think you went through a time warp to the 1980's.

I lived there for a year and did not care for it. It was strange the ATM's are monochrome 80's versions and the Kmart was nicer than the Target oh and coke was more expensive then good beer. How did Bloomberg do that?
