Now I get why cuting the NASA or EPA budget is a bad idea. They're nothing. Nothing. Compared to welfare, nothing.

10% across the board.

Wellfare should consist of very basic nutrition (handed out on paper plates) and temporary, basic shelter provided as cheaply as possible.  Medicare should be nothing more than immunizations for kids, teeth pulling, and antibiotics.  No more free shit.  If you didn't plan well, that's your damn fault.

No kidding. I've been looking at apartments lately and it's mind-boggling how many properties accept Section 8 vouchers (these are in decent parts of town, too...).  I've also seen a bakery and a Ross department store (discount designer-brand clothes) accept EBT. WTF. Why bother working?

ETA: The element of shame has pretty much disappeared from all forms of welfare... when I was growing up, the kids who got free lunch were ashamed of it. Now adults wear it as a badge of honor, because to them, they're "sticking it to the man."

"President's proposed total spending 2013"

Well, first thing is to analyze and adjust the shit out of anything a socialist thug comes up with for "Proposed Total Spending" of your tax dollars.

I see 58% that can be cut right off the bat.
