A mint hardly shot Springfield Professional Operator with all that comes with it and a Surefire x300. For a 1990 Mustang LX 5.0 (7-Up Edition) 5 speed convertible?

The car is in very nice condition, 107k miles. New top with totally redone interior, completely stock un-rebuilt drivetrain that has been well maintained?

I test drove one when they were new. With the seat all the way back my knees extended up into the steering wheel.

If there was one LX fox I have always wanted, the 7-up version was the one.

Does it still have the turbine wheels?

NO, the fox body is one of the most god awful looking cars ever made. And that's from a Ford lover.

The Fox is still my favorite. I miss my 91 GT that ended up putting about 450 or so to the tires for what amounted to pocket change at the time.

Actually not for the 5.0. The bottom end is almost bulletproof, new valvetrain really livens them up at that age.

That's less than 5k/yr average, on one of the easiest engines to work on ever.

Hardly a lot of miles for a 1990.

OP, I'd probably do it. I've been thinking about getting another Fox body project myself.

Hey, not knocking the performance, but the looks just dont do it for me. Remind me of a euro box or cavalier or something. I still miss my SN95 I had. A lot of people don't like them either, but it is still one of my favorite cars I've ever had. Shame a senile old bat t-boned me in a town car. She got a busted grill, I got a bent in half totaled out mustang.

You should try to determine what that car is really worth.

There's only 1100 of that edition in standard.

Wouldn't even look back on that trade. You'll get a lot more out of that car than yet-another-1911.

You can but another 1911 if it bothers you later, but I wouldn't miss a 1911 a whole lot.

Cars and firearms are generally a pain in the ass to sell private and the dealers of both need to make a fair bit if you do a deal of any kind through them. (have friends in both buisneses,not knocking it,just the way it is).

With this in mind any kind af trade deal -as long as both folks are getting something they want more than what they are tradeing off is usually a great thing.

Gun for a car isn't something you usually see but if it works it works!

If it was an LX hatch 5 speed car Id already be tearing the motor out. Its hard to find a nice Fox body around here anymore that someone hasnt got confused with a 69 Boss 429 when it comes to pricing it.

Id like to dump the money into a 347cid and traction. I know the horrors of trying to keep a Fox convertible together and the suck of living with 4:10s or 4:56s in the rear.

Im 38, its the car of my youth and its the only one Ive owned over the years that I miss. A Springfield Pro isnt something you can just walk into a gunshop and buy without getting raped on the price. And the 1911 is the gun equivalent of the Fox Mustang to me.

So its basically, I can pay more for the car possibly. The owner really wants this pistol and get back on the 2 year waiting list for a replacement for another Pro.

As I typed that last sentence. Screw it, Im keeping the Pro if I cant make a deal I'll keep looking for a nice 4 banger LX. The wife is the one thats into the converts, not me.

If it was an LX notchback convertible I'd make that trade all day long.
In my case, only because I kind wanted one in high school and never wound up getting one.
