It used to happen to me every once in a while. Mine was always low blood pressure/sugar. Sit down, drink some water and eat something healthy.

The only other time this happened was years and years ago after a blood sample (they took alot) was taken. Was standing at the counter paying my bill and all of a sudden it was like someone hit the mute button. I could see the womenz mouth moving but no sound coming out, tunnel vision and almost fell on the floor.
The only thing I could think of when it happened today was "SHIT! I don't have health insurance anymore! WTF am I gonna do?" |

I used to get that all the time. Anxiety or Panic attacks. You NEED to go out and buy yourself another AR15... you'll feel better. But Seriously, go to the doctor and have that checked out. Are you under a lot of stress? |

And when your blood sugar is low, there is nothing healthier than a huge bar of chocolate (nuts, caramel, nougat, etc. are optional). |

Could be anything from low bloodsugar level (did you eat/drink enough before the incident?) to a vagal collapse.
The last can happen due to heat, an alcoholic drink sinking in the wrong way or a large meal eaten too fast. What happens a nerve, the culprit being the nervus vagus, gets overstimulated. Which lowers your pulsefreq, BP. You get dizzy, start seeing stars or black. Get all tingly and nauseous. And if all works out you collaps. Happens to everyone from time to time. 7 out of 10 of the "respond to a patient unresponsive, pale/sweating possible cardiac arrest" seem people shook up pretty bad at the sight of their company collapsing right after they had a nice meal in a good restaurant. Then again, I didn't see get into the spell. Didnt' see you afterwards and don't know your med background. And an internetDoc I ain't [;)] |

You can also stimulate a vagal response when you, ummmm, strain or bare down in order to pass a particularly stubborn stool. Lowers the heart rate, often dramatically, sometimes fatally.
I can't count the number of cardiac arrests I have been to that have occured on the crapper. Just an interesting(?) tidbit. |

As a once certified Red Cross CPR instructor I have been told this phenomenon was attributed to those who were having a heart attack thinking they needed to evacuate their bowels or seeking relief by doing so. |

It could be blood pressure related, poor blood sugar regulation, or anxiety (panic attack). Only a visit to the doc will tell for sure.

Had that as a kid happening quite frequently (ages 10 through 15 or so), caused by Sudden Growth Syndrome (1), especially in combination with Morbus Bonus Erectus (2).
Took up smoking and coffee to get the BP up, I'm fine since then *cough cough* How old are you? (1) Yes, I made that name up just now (2) Made that one up, too. |

Bascially the blood was cut off from your brain. Its actually kind of interesting sensation. The ringing and the vision going is wierd. The color usually goes first then your in a tunnel. Then lights out!
Youre having a vasovagal reaction. The blood return is being hampered cutting off fresh blood to your brain. Magnum is correct this does happen frequently to pregnant women. You have to make sure it isnt a heart condition. Youll get the same effects from the heart not beating correctly. Youll need a ECG and a Holter monitor for 24hrs. Are you sure you just didnt see the Beekeeper or LT naked? |

This is more likely to happen if you eat a big meal and extert yourself physically right away. Theres a reason your mom told you not to swim right after you ate.

I would agree with ARDOC and make sure this is not some kind of transient cardiac dysrhythmia. I would doubt hypoglycemia as an immediate cause unless you were a diabetic.

I have to agree with Operatorerror and Kuiper.
Sounds like a stool induced overstimulated nervus vaginal response problem. Seriously, if it lasted over 10min and scared ya enough to post about it; go see a Dr. If you were out drinking the night before, I would'nt worry about it. |
