The U.S. government averted seven planned terrorist acts in 1999 two were potentially large-scale, high-casualty attacks being organized by domestic extremist groups. Both domestic terrorist groups (such as the National Alliance, the Aryan Nation, and the extremist Puerto Rican separatist group Los Macheteros) and [b]special interest extremist groups[/b] continue to pose a threat to the peace and stability of our country."
