picking up some rechargeable AA's when I decide to tour the sporting goods department....I walk by the gun cabinet just in time to pass the clerk coming from the back carrying a .22 rifle and telling the young kid waiting on him that "I cant sell you this rifle I cant find the box" it had the tags on it why cant he sell it? Regardless, I walked over another aisle stood there for a minute and went back to the gun case. The customer was still standing there, I walked up and gave him the location of my favorite gun shop ironically only about five miles from Wal Mart. When I got in the car I called my dealer (he is a friend) I told him the story and to expect this young man to come walking in any minute. To make a long story short my buddy sold him .22 even though it wasn't in stock he will have it early next week for him and my local GS will hopefully gain a loyal customer....

I would've done the same, good on you, I'd much rather see my favorite local mom & pop gun store get more business than Walmart.

You did notice I gave him the golf clap, right? I meant there are gunshop owners out there who get all butt-hurt if someone helps someone else find what they're looking for elsewhere.

Me, I'd be like Santa at Macy's in Miracle on 34th Street, and send them to Gimbel's.
