Kazaa is as good as Morpheus - which is still around and kickin.  Sucks about Audiogalaxy, but then again, their service sucked for the last 4 months, so I've been on Kazaa anyway.  Kazaa also allows you to download software (Windows XP, games, etc), movies (in DIVX format, which is awesome, BUT LARGE!) and obviously mp3s.

In case you hadn't heard, Kazaa is spyware and by installing it on your PC, you also have implicitly agreed to allow Kazaa to rent your processor to their customers without any compensation to you.

Ok, since there's a lot of support for Bearshare - and since morpheus sucks now, even when it "works", I've decided to give it a whirl.  But I can't seem to connect.  It seems that all the hosts are refusing my connection attempts.  Is this typical?

You can't seem to "connect" to what??
The Bearshare site?
The c|net Bearshare download site?

Did you download and install it correctly?

If so, try the usual uninstall/reinstall.
