I would have done that trade in a heartbeat, especially considering 1911's certainly aint my thing. |

It was a Charles Daly, not exactly "Good American steel" Plus, I still have another CD as well as 4 other 1911s |

My bad Makes it an even better deal for you! Only way I'd probably own another 1911 is grabbing a $300 norinco. |

Whatever you trade for...
If it you like it, if it makes you happy, if you go out and have fun with it... It's a good trade. |

Hell yes. Keep it all for the upcoming apocalypse. Kind of my thought, I have enough spare parts (minus the receiver and barrel) to build another which would give me 3. Plus I plan to pick up 2 or 3 more. |

Did you shoot the mosin first? Some of those bolts can sure get stuck....
Ammo alone is worth the 1911 so good job! |

An AR-15 is great for SHTF until a spring breaks.... |

I'd say its a good trade. Wish I could find a deal like that.
|

What's the date and factory info on the Mosin? Good trade in all, I want one of those ammo boxes with the tabs.
|

Kudos....Deal Of The Day!
I'd trade my CD .45 any day for that haul. |
|
A decent 1911 is worth more than a mosin nagant. they aren't terrible rifles from the few rounds I have shot through them, but they're nothing to write home about other than being cheap
-nevermind didn't look at all the ammo

Traded my Charles Daly .45 1911 for a Mosin Nagant http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k121/ninelivez/IMAG0135.jpg As well as a a shit ton of extras and ammo to the tune of 1250 147gr Russian in 2 spam cans + loose 1300 147gr Romanian silver tip in 2 spam cans + loose 174 184gr Hungarian HB 98 147gr Cupro-Nickle WWI "Sniper Rounds" 115 182gr BTSP Russian Yellow Tip "long range" 20 203gr Silver Bear These descriptions are directly from the list he gave me and not checked Some of the extras include 4 Ammo pouches 3 Complete cleaning/tool kits 1 Complete bolt w/extractor 1 bolt head w/extractor 100 Stripper clips 1 Complete trigger group Plus a lot more Also included, 100 pieces of .223 brass 125 pieces of .45 brass 62 pieces of .38 brass 2 .38/.357 speed loaders a holster for a .357 revolver. ETA: 50 rounds of .38 I would trade a custom built Les Baer for a Finnish SAKO 1937 MM gold plack marked M28/30 in a heartbeat. No I am not kidding. Only 440 were made. Most are in museums. http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?201847-M28-30-in-37-Military-rifle-games-some-pics |

How come you guys hate "fudd" deer rifles, which are highly refined consumer products,
but you love crusty old russian drainpipes? Interdasting also, buying off-brand autoloaders of any type is a real crapshoot |

I am not talking about Sako, Tika, or the other good imports, but american made junk...aka Remington. While I'm not a russian gun fan, I have been Highly impressed with the accuracy of Finnish Mosins, my SAKO M28/30 in particular. Edited: To fix my horrible grammer. Engineers have absolutely no writting skills. |

Also, I have started to have an interest is collecting the older military rifles with a lot of wood |

Are the Chinese SKSs =to, < or > then the Yugo SKSs, quality wise.
|

+ from what I've read. I have a Yugo and it is 100% but the China seems to be a better gun from what I've read.

SKS is a beauty But whats with the painted door casing and stained base board trim?
