Quoted: I want 4 or 5 of them.Went by my local shop today and picked up this monster, wasn't cheap but damn it's cool CVN
cool!
When do ya think Magpul will make Ranger or Lumpy plates for them? |
seems a bit excessive for semiauto use. i like the idea of being able to own a 60 round mag, but i'd rather spend my limited funds on other items.
Just meh to me. A few friends have them. They are good for running a carbine COF if you want to avoid changing mags, but otherwise they are huge, the follower sucks, and they cost far too much.

I thought I wanted one before I saw those pics. You would think $110 would get you something that doesn't look like it came out of a Chinese Tapco factory. Those welds look like shit. For that kind of change you would think they would be built like a Knights or LaRue magazine.
I'd like to get one. Surefire can suck a barrel of dicks for grossly inflating the price of these magazines.

Makes sense in one of those gay IAR things. In a semi-auto AR-15, not so much.
But not everything has to make sense. Seems like it'd be fun to have one or two... |
Ive seen those 100+ rd mags for just a bit more. Id like one of the surefire ones but I think my ass would hurt everytime I used it because the price is rape

Just loaded it with 60rds of Wolf using a LULA, no problem here. |

I wonder why then they are still listed as "Coming Soon" on Surefire's website, which is what it has said for several months now.
I thought I wanted 60 rounds too (mag coupler). Till I put it on my rifle ... weighs too much
(mere citizen) |

I can see the appeal, and it seems well-executed. Let us know how it runs.
Price is a little higher than a standard magazine, but quite a bit lower than many AK drums. A lot of posters in this thread have evidently never purchased any other magazine than a STANAG AR one. |
Those would be great for big 3-gun stages but I'm not paying that much for one.
I have one I use for work and 3Gun, it's been flawless so far.
Is it really a $110 inconvenience to change an $8 dollar USGI 30 rd. magazine once??? I don't think so. |
FIRST IMPRESSION: That thing is almost as fat as I am!!!!!!!!
SECOND IMPRESSION: That thing would rock on the Robinson M-96 with the Bren Configuration. |
Meh, for that price I'd rather just spend the extra for a Beta mag. I like the concept, execution, not so much. I'll have to do with my RediMag for now.
this will be a game changer for 3 gun that's for sure. I will resist buying one...........at least until I see some range reports.
Quoted: can you load it by hand? Yes I cycled a few rounds out of it and reloaded them by hand just fine. |
Quoted: make a video of you shooting it with the scar Quoted: Do you still have that ACR? Both of them are gone, I'll have something cool again soon enough! |
Just to answer a couple questions real quick
- Yes you can load it very easy by hand, no lula needed, the design of the springs and followers is one of a kind. - Much lighter than I expected, I dont have a scale handy, but like I said lighter than expected. - Smooth operation, coated with some kind of teflon feeling coating |

Any clip that holds over 31 rounds here in Ohio is considered a machine gun and illegal

I have also heard that they haven't been very reliable for those that are using them in 3-gun. I'll be waiting on the rumored Magpul quad stack. For the record I'm not averse to spending that much on a mag as I have a few Brazos tuned 20 round mags for my STI as well as a few Knights mags for my .MA-10, but those mags are of very high quality, they aren't just a couple of barely trimmed stampings spot welded together. |

Or when will Magpul make the whole thing? For $50 bucks? Never gonna happen. Soon as they start making components for the Surefire you know it's dead. |

I put 60rds of Wolf through it today, ran great and even took the wife and the video camera but unfortunately they don't get along and only the last 27rds were filmed, I'll try again this weekend.

Quoted: Any clip that holds over 31 rounds here in Ohio is considered a machine gun and illegal That is not accurate according to Shotar "You can own the mag, but you cannot insert it into a non NFA firearm." |
At least make it LOOK like it should cost more then $11.
Why not just get $15 40 rounders? |

I have one I use for work and 3Gun, it's been flawless so far. as a Californian I am curious why you can own and use one but I can't.. is there an LEO clause that makes anything over 10 rounds okay for you? |

I have one and its flawless. Runs great semi and full auto. Runs well in a 249 as well.
Can you field strip the magazine please? I want to see the cool looking follower and internal components to make it go from quad to double stack

GI mags always had the problem with the mag spring not being able to keep up with the cycle of the gun. |
