they did not pass government inspectors for some problem, possible even cosmetic
it has all gone bang, but they dont want someone putting there life on the line with ammo that has already been rejected by the gov- too much liability |

I just checked all mine. It all says " Not For Duty Use"
I thought I had bought the real deal  and bought it for a rainy day

If I was given the choice, I wouldn't use M855 for duty work either.
If I had a dream mag, itd be loaded 2/1 with 64grn softpoints and M955. |

I've shot a bunch of it with no problems. From what I understand the QC defect is the projectiles, there is a chance the bullet will disintegrate in flight.

My local Academy had it today, $159 for 420 rounds. Not a deal at 38 cents a round.

I bought a can of this stuff a couple months ago. Just opened it up and inspected the brass. Some of them have small dings on them. Nothing too major. I don't think it would affect the funtion of it.
