A couple months ago I bought an ammo can of 420 rounds marked "Not For Duty Use." Just got back from Academy and noticed they are selling the same cans without the "Not For Duty Use" markings on them. Is there any difference? I heard that the ones that are marked were marked for civilian purchase. Anyone with any info is appreciated. Thanks.

they did not pass government inspectors for some problem, possible even cosmetic

it has all gone bang, but they dont want someone putting there life on the line with ammo that has already been rejected by the gov- too much liability

I just checked all mine. It all says " Not For Duty Use"

I thought I had bought the real deal and bought it for a rainy day

Zombies don't really care what they are shot with.  If it goes bang and not click or KABOOM, it's good.

If I was given the choice, I wouldn't use M855 for duty work either.
If I had a dream mag, itd be loaded 2/1 with 64grn softpoints and M955.

Yea, but the less often I have to do this the better.

I suppose even with the not for duty use stuff, I will still be way ahead of ALL my neighbors

I've shot a bunch of it with no problems. From what I understand the QC defect is the projectiles, there is a chance the bullet will disintegrate in flight.

My local Academy had it today, $159 for 420 rounds. Not a deal at 38 cents a round.

I bought a can of this stuff a couple months ago. Just opened it up and inspected the brass. Some of them have small dings on them. Nothing too major. I don't think it would affect the funtion of it.

I think I will head down to see what mine says.  I got it from Cabela's when they had it for 149.00 with 5 dollar shipping on any size order.
