There are multiple pipelines coming out of Kazakhstan. But none of them travel thru Afghanistan as far as I know. The oil either flows up thru Russia, or over to the Caspian Sea, thru Azerbaijan or Georgia, then down into Turkey. I'm sure some even flows East towards China, but I know nothing about those.
Oil is also taken out by freight train up thru Russia. There could be a pipeline that travels thru Afghanistan, but I can't imagine it carrying oil anymore. I would think that it would have been shut off to prevent the Afghans from tapping into it and stealing all they wanted. I'll look into it and see what I can find. |

Build a pipeline through 500 miles of wild territory where every jerkoff and his brother has an RPG-7? Nope. I dont think so.

There is a proposal to build a pipeline from Russia through Afghanistan. It has been around for many years.
