As I posted to eswanson, the media has created a myopic tunnelvision in you.
The conflict here DID NOT begin with Islam. It began when Jewish peoples INITIATED the violence in the region by STARTING a war with teh indigenous peoples of the region, the decendants of Ishmael, commonly known as Arabs.
that all startes some 1,500 - 2,000 years BC. Being 2002 AD, I get a total of 4,000 years. Sue me if I'm off 50 years or so.
Do the Palestinians as a conquered people deserve a homeland? If they do, wouldn't that mean that we should be giving the Natives back their land?

When a 3,000,000 strong band of Cherokees (I happen to be Cherokee) get together and ask for one, we'll take up a vote, OK???? [rolleyes]
The end game for the Palestinian terrorists (not necessarily all Palestinians) is no Israel. Tell me exactly why the Israelis should be dealing with people who have a vested interest in completely annihilating them?

Again, your asserion here is shown to be almost completely false, by TWO facts:
1. The FACT that almost 3,000,000 (out of a population of about 3,000,000) Palestinains killed NO ONE yesterday. Or the day before. Or the year before. Or the hundred years before. And won't in the thousand years to come.
2. divdoc's (he's STRONGLY pro-Israel btw) article PROVING the radical militant Islaamics bemoaning the apathy and inaction of the people you claim are trying to annihilate Israel. If they are trying to annihilate Israel, they're going about it the wrong way. In fact, their not going about it at all.
Your whole position is based on the DESIRE to lump all Arabs in together, as a monolithic unit, with a unity of opinion, desire, and hatred for Israel and America.
While that is useful for launching a "War on Terror" its not true. And misappropriation of the truth has ALWAYS ben a feature of war, but when its a basis for a deliberative US policy, I gotta say something.
