What would you put in a messenger map bag type
bag for carrying with you in your vehicle at all times?

My daughter gave me a one to keep in my vehicle
and I was wondering what I should put in it?

I already carry a number of things so this would be more of a
"I need to abandon the vehicle and walk away from it" type bag.

Ideas?

I don't care what you say.  I care one whenever I travel via commercial airlines.  Great for keeping all the stuff I might use on the plane or waiting on the plane instead of a roll on bag.

Everything. I usually had one when I had my old Jeep.

Including:

Bandaids
Bandages
Neosporin
Jumper cables
Tow ropes and such
Lightsticks and flares
Tool kit (hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches...the usual suspects)
A couple rolls of duct tape
Pantyhose (makes a good pinch-hit fan or accessory belt)
Paper pads
Pencils (try finding a pen that'll write upside down or when wet...and then try justifying it being an expendable resource...yeah. pencils are cheaper.)
Knife/knives
Crazy Glue
Matches
Compass
Shooting/protective glasses
Hearing protection/earplugs

Honest to goodness, yes, all this crap fit in my messenger bag.
Well, most of it. The medical stuff I had in a seperate "medical kit" box.

XD45 Tactical with 3 spare magazines
Roll of Toilet Paper in a quart zip-loc bag
A tube of Neosporin
Some band-aids, gauze pads and athletic tape
A small bottle of Motrin
A week's worth of my prescription medication
A multi-tool
A couple of Bic lighters
A Nalgene bottle of water
Some granola bars
A Mini-Maglite
A 4-pack of Lithium "AA" batteries

There might be a few other small items, but this should be about it...

Ya really, notice how his 'daughter' gave it to him.  Can't turn a gift away from a 'daughter' can we?

daughter = hours on Amazon reading user reviews of different 'messenger/map bags' before committing to the debit card payment
