Nope. Not for me. I do not need to see the TV on the counter while I cook, nor do my pictures need to be moving constantly.

I also don't need my car dash made of glass.

Call my old school.

Also there is too much vandalism in the US that will keep them from doing what they want in the cities.

I just noticed my GPS routed me around some closed roads by my house today - I knew they were open because it's Sunday but for the rest of the week they're closed... it hit me when I looked at the GPS and it said I was going the wrong way...

I also get traffic on my GPS - I don't usually put in individual addresses unless it's a long drive, I'm going to the city or I don't have an idea where the place is. I do, however, keep my GPS on whenever I'm driving.

watching the video - yes please... I love the idea of a TV like that... the ability to move it to the countertop would be amazing

the video phone stuff..meh - not one for talking much but the internet connected displays in every room.... oh yea

I can see those glass interfaces at the motor rewind shop now. Greasy fingerprints all over the test panels––-the images of the buttons obscured so inputs can't be read by the machine or operator––-abrasives in fingers scratching the glass so nothing works properly––-just another fun day at work.

MOST of that stuff is completely pointless , why would you need a TV everywhere you go if you have a smartphone that can project a 52" HD image anywhere in a house (This can already be done with current technology).

The big thing is the fact that corningware has made a super thin glass (less than 1mm in width) that is nearly indestructible , can't be scratched , is flexible, and has capacitive resistance. What's important about this is they will be able to make displays for ANYTHING that can't be damaged. From my understanding , they've already made a protoype cell phone out of this super-glass , and regardless of what researchers did to it , they couldn't break it.

I like how there were apparently cameras in all areas of the glass, as well as radio circuitry, batteries, etc.

I like the feel and simplicity of buttons and switches. I do not want my dashboard to be full glass

I often feel like I was born 150 years too late. I enjoy a lot tech but at what point does it become too much?

A few thoughts I had watching that.

I'm OCD when it comes to clean. I constantly find myself wiping the screen on my EVO. I'd fucking go nuts with the smudges and fingerprints on nearly every glass surface in that house.

As another poster said I'm not too keen on video chat. There is nobody I want to video chat with when I first roll out of bed in the morning still in my underware and messy bed hair.

I like how they showed the working mom and stay at home dad of the future.

I could imagine they might subsidize the expense of such tech by selling advertising. They already do it on some smart phones. How annoying would pop up adds be on your bathroom mirror or kitchen counter?

ETA: Did we get a peak at the iPhone 5?

I'd really dig photovoltaic glass. Been trying to find something for my motorcycle helmet that would do it.... there is a company making some manner of photochromic plastic lenses, but their site went up empty recently.

I ride to work at night when it's dark, and ride home in the morning when it's sunny, usually heading east. A screen that could tint itself automatically would be fucking sweet! I also like the first part of the video where the bedroom windows were photovoltaic.

That is quite a tall order for current photochromics. The technology is common in ski goggles. The range I am familiar with is about 40% variability in visible light transmission. I don't know that that would be enough range for your needs.
