I think that 16" barrel is as short as you can go without registering as a short barreled rifle. You cna put the collapsable stock on though.
I just traded a post-ban Bushmaster like your's (but with out the AK brake) and a Bulgarian milled receiver AK-100H for a Colt SP1 lowered pre-ban. It has a non-colt upper and the owner couldn't get it to feed right. I told him exactly what was wrong with it but he said he had 5 different people who knew alot about guns look at it and it couldn't be fixed. I took it to my gunsmith after the trade and he adjusted the front pivot pin and says it works perfectly. I had about $1360.00 oringinally in the guns I traded. I figure I broke even on the trade but I got a pre-ban AR without spending any hard cash. |

Sounds like you got a fair deal. Tell me about that AK100 receiver, I have and like AKs as well. I was wanting to get a receiver and build one, where did you order yours from? What do you think of the Hesse receiver? The AK100H is built on the Bulgarian milled receiver with U.S. FCG and the rest of the parts are Hungarian thus the H after the AK100. Pistol Grip configuration. Bought it from J&G Sales in Prescott, AZ 2 years ago and it came to $508.00 with the tax at that time. I got 2 of them and they were nice but heavy. Now you can probably get something better from Bulgarian Arsenal built here in the U.S. for less. |

Dont forget the 14.5" barrel with a permanent Phantom Flash suppressor if you want to be shorter then a normal 16". This is what im going to get down the road for my colt SP-1.

Bushmaster sells them. pre-lib Yeah, I saw that on the Bushmaster site, the Phantom looks cool and my post ban Bushy is 14.5 w/permanent AK brake....I almost want to pay the $200 bucks for SBR and do a 11.5" 9mm upper, but registering with "The Man" makes my skin crawl......... |
