So on another board this guy is asking what to get a AK, AR or M1A, he wants one rifle, so I chime in go with the AR platform, and its off and running, this guy tells me ANY out of the box Sendero will out shoot ANY AR based rifle

. Than he site all the records are held by bolt guns, and if the AR platform was so good why does the military still use the M21? Jesus, how do you get a point accross to someone really wanting help, when theres a dumb shit spewing bullshit?

Meh, if I only could have one rifle it would be an AR...but I dont necessarily see it as my duty to convince other people on the internet. The guy asking the question may just need to go buy a 700 and then eventually he'll learn that not only can it not do everything, but also the valuable lesson that the internet is full of ignorant loudmouth assholes.

Not taking it personally, just how do you give someone sound advice when you have a dumbass going off? The way the guy asked the question, he had ruled out the AK,and was down to a M1A or AR, all I did was point out that a AR was more accurate, he had been told the AR fills the reciever with unused propellant and required more complex cleaning, so I pointed out it really didnt, and once you get a routine, its easy to clean, no worse than a M1A. I guess I'm venting kinda wanting to put the bolt gun guy in his place......LOL

You should totally bash him because it is not the M21 that he is referring to, the M24 or M40. The M21 is the semi-auto M14 based rifle.
The M24/M40 is the Remington-based rifle.

I hate to tell him but I watched an AR based rifle win a 1k match at Oak Ridge, TN last year shooting against some world class competition bolt action rifles. I think he was single loading 80 or 90 grain Berger VLDs. Now his barrel was 26" but he said any AR based rifle.

I also know of a guy who builds space guns based on ARs that can and will shoot quarter moa.

Well, I know that the Godfather of AR gunsmithing Bill Wylde and John Feamster have shot Benchrest with AR's. Both IIRC have Official Screamer shot group certification at 200 yards. Not shabby for a gas gun to keep up almost with the epitome of bolt actions - Benchrest actions are works of art!!!!!!!

That's horseshit. It's isn't humane when the fucker with the gun can't shoot worth a shit. But that's true with any caliber. You also need to point out that AR's come in A LOT of other calibers besides .223.
